Family – Indianapolis Portrait Photographer

How is tomorrow May 1st?? Where does the time go? I know it sounds cliche but ever since we had Dylan it seems that time flies by. Hard to believe he will be two in just a couple short months. We have been so busy around here. Somedays I am not sure what we are busy with but our days fly by and our weekends are too short. I am fully committed to Marathon training which takes up a lot of my time these days. Dan is 90% finished with an awesome new deck out our back door and Dylan is, well, an almost 2 year old. He is BUSY. He is into everything. Talking up a storm and keeping us on our toes.

Generally we are just like everyone else…Dylan does something funny or cute and by the time we grab our little point and shoot camera it is over or I get a “No Mommy No” when he sees the camera. However, today I was feeling inspired. I don’t know what it was but I wanted to document Dylan now. He is really into helping Daddy and being outside. He has new rain boots that he has slept in since we bought them last week and he loves wrapping people in blankets and calling them a “wito” which is his version of burrito. His laugh is infectious, his devilish smile makes me oh so nervous and he is growing SO fast. So today I wanted to stop time for just a minute and take a few photos of our little man so that when he wakes up tomorrow, another day closer to his 2nd birthday, we will remember the things that make him who he is at this very moment in time. So we played just like we do every day after school and I got out my real camera and just watched him in action.

We played on the new deck, hammered everything in sight and the best part of all…it started raining so he got to really try out his rain boots. Life is good when you are almost 2.

P.S. How awesome is the deck? Dan built it all by himself. A little help from friends here and there but he really did it alone. Pretty awesome. He is a rock star!

Erin and Dave are friends of mine from college who just spent a year in Australia and welcomed their sweet baby girl, Amelia, into this crazy world while they were there. It was really great to see them. It has honestly been at least 6 or 7 years since I have seen them because they had never met Dan or Dylan for that matter. Needless to say it has been too long and I loved catching up with them and meeting Amelia. I am in love with these images. It was the perfect start to our spring photo sessions. I think there is a strong sense of family, love and happiness which is perfect.

Thanks for contacting us to do this Heids, loved seeing you guys and Amelia is just as perfect as I imagined her to be!

Sweet Little Charlie

I had one of the most amazing experiences on Saturday.  I was in the room with my sister and brother-in-law when sweet little Charlie was born.  She is perfect in every way possible.  I do realize that I am a little biased but she is seriously the cutest little thing.  She isn’t even my baby but being a part of her grand entrance into this big scary world makes me love her that much more.  She made us wait most of the day to meet her but I would expect nothing less from a little girl who will grow up to be nothing but fabulous.  Within about 3 minutes of her birth she had her daddy wrapped around her finger and mommy was smitten.  She was alert and looking around at anything that passed by and shockingly she came out saying my name…amazing right?!?!  She must be a genius:) In all seriousness I could not be more excited for Katie, Patrick and Henry and it is moments like this when I am so incredibly thankful that we live down the street.  Sweet little Charlie I am so proud to be your Aunt and I can’t wait to go shopping for you this week…It could be dangerous!

Thank you for sending these. She’s beautiful. The important question now – who’s voice does she have? Also, didn’t know you had a photographer in the family. Very nice. Guess your camera ran out of color! :-) Loved them all but my favorites were the two shot over Mom’s shoulder showing how alert Charlie is. Great shots. Thanks again. Hope them both in person someday.

Love to all,
Ken & Dinah

Scott and Beth – Wedding

Where do I even begin? I could tell you about how Beth and I met or how we spent five years working together or how we traveled around the country together for golf championships but what you really need to know is that we ate lunch together nearly every day for 2 years straight and I watched this relationship develop through the stories she would tell me over countless cajun chicken sandwiches. Never once did I doubt that we would someday be celebrating their wedding day. They are perfect for each other. They have the same love of life, friends and family and I could not be happier for them. When Beth texted me from Alaska to tell me that Scott had proposed I was over the moon excited for them.  It was such an honor to be with them on one of the most important days of their lives and to document it every step of the way.

Scott and Beth…our guest room is ready for you when you find the time to make a trip to the midwest.  I truly mean it when I say we could not be happier for either of you.  Your love is inspiring and you both deserve nothing but the best.  Congrats!!

The DeLisle Family

It seems only appropriate that my first real post on my new site features my family.  They were a huge part of the reason why we moved to Indianapolis…actually they were the reason.  I always knew I wanted to live close to my family but then we had a baby and I quickly realized it was more than a want, it was a need.  We learned that the hard way.

So this is my older sister’s family.  She is my best friend in the world.  She and her husband are expecting their second child in just a few short weeks…doesn’t she look awesome?!?  I am so excited, perhaps too excited at times, to meet their new little one.  It was a perfect shoot…aside from the fact that it was FREEZING but we went to Holcomb gardens and did the shoot in less than an hour.  I love these three A LOT so these pictures really make me happy.

Last photos before they become a family of four…
